Rules of Craps

Basically, craps is a dice game. How it got to be considered as an online casino game is indeterminable. Perhaps it is because of its appeal to online gamblers that made it so. However, before trying out this already popular casino game, you have to have a thorough understanding of it first.

This old English game is actually very simple, yet, at the same time, it is also very complex. Its simplicity lies in the objective of the game. Its complexity, on the other hand, stems from the fact that multiple steps and procedures are required before the actual play. Thus, before you think that Craps is just another online casino game, think again. This game requires not only luck but much of skill and technique.

Objective of Craps

Craps has a shooter and this shooter is in charge if the dice throw. You will then bet with him or against him. The shooter’s first roll is designated as the come out. The succeeding rolls are just normal rolls.

Usually, players bet in favor of the shooter. If the result of the roll of the shooter is seven or eleven, players who followed the shooter would win. If the result of the roll, however, is a two, a three, or a twelve (this is the number that has the honor of being called craps, players who bet against the shooter would win. If the result of the roll is any of the remaining numbers, this outcome would become the Point.

Basically, the game will revolve in a clockwise fashion, which means that every person will get the chance of becoming the shooter. Every shooter’s first roll is the come out roll; hence, this is the beginning of every round.

The Craps Table

The configuration of the table is rather complicated. There are two general categories on the table; they are the Larger Place as well as the One Roll Bets. The Larger Place has several individual components, too, and they are secured by the Dealers, two individuals who would be paying out your winnings if you win.

The One Roll Bets has relatively fewer subdivisions. At this area, the Boxman is in charge of mediating among the players.

Step-by-Step Rules of Craps

  1. The shooter picks two dice and players bet

The shooter will choose two dice and the other players (a craps table can accommodate up to twenty players) will place their bets. The shooter is automatically considered to have made a Pass bet and players who don’t want play with the shooter place bets on the Don’t Pass section.

  2. The shooter rolls and the outcome is determined

In this roll, the sum of the dice is determined. If the outcome is a seven or an eleven, the shooter and those who followed him win automatically. If the outcome is two or three, it’s otherwise. If the outcome is twelve, Pass bets would lose and those who are on the Don’t Pass bets would reach a tie. If the outcome is not a 2, 3, 12, 7 or 11, that number is considered the Point. This point will make the shooter and those who chose to play with him win if it’s drawn or rolled again before an outcome of seven is drawn. If a seven is drawn before the point is repeated on a subsequent roll, those who are on the Don’t Pass line will win

  3. A new round starts

The new round begins with a new shooter. A player becomes the new shooter after the shooter loses.
